Flex Resources¶
Flex is G Adventures’ flexible cancellation product. Purchased alongside a tour, it upgrades the booking’s cancellation terms, allowing travellers to cancel much closer to the trip departure and receive a refund and/or Future Travel Credit (FTC) according to the terms of the tier they purchased. Depending on the tier, Flex also bundles ancillary perks such as a travel eSIM and delayed-luggage protection.
Within the G Adventures API, Flex is modelled by a small family of resources. The flex tiers resource describes the levels of the Flex programme and their percentage-based terms. Each bookable departure exposes one purchasable flex plan per available tier, with its terms resolved to concrete dates by the flex cancellation terms resource. Purchasing a plan creates a flex plan service on the booking, which may deliver bundled perks as flex plan service addons. Finally, the service cancellation terms resource exposes the amount-based terms that currently apply to a booked departure service - whether those are the departure’s base cancellation terms or the upgraded Flex terms.
